The top single of the year was Drake's One Dance, which spent 13 weeks at top of the charts.
Drake's album Views was number seven on the album charts.
In a year when the world lost David Bowie, it's fitting that he features twice in our top ten.
The best-of collection Nothing Has Changed was number four, while the Thin White Duke's final album, Blackstar, was number six.
If you were looking for Kiwi music in the charts, you'd have to look outside the top ten.
The top-ranking Kiwi album was Six60's Six60 (2), which at number 11 was closely followed by Sol3 Mio's On Another Note at number 12.
This year was the first time streaming figures were included in the charts.
