Justin Bieber Pens Letter to Fans After Storming Off Stage: 'I'm Not a Robot'

Justin Bieber shared — and quickly deleted — a letter to his fans addressing why he stormed off stage during a concert last week.

In an Sunday tweet that has since been removed, the 22-year-old entertainer explained that his feelings overcame him.

"People tend to want to shut you down. What I mean by that is … people try to twist things, some people don't want to listen," he wrote. "But I simply feel like, if I didn't use this platform to say how I truly feel, and if I didn't use this platform to be the man that I know I am, and speak from what's in my heart, then I'm doing myself injustice, and I'm not doing anybody in this audience any justice."

Bieber continued, "There's going to be times where I say the wrong thing, because I'm human. But I don't pretend to be perfect and I hope to God that, you know, I don't say the right thing all the time because if that was the case then I'd be a robot, and I'm just, I'm not a robot. There's times when I get upset … times when I get angry, there's times when I'm going to be frustrated. But I'm always going to be myself on this stage."

The singer abruptly dropped his mic and walked off stage mid-show during a Purpose world tour stop in Manchester, England, on Sunday Oct. 23 after pleading with fans to stop screaming in between songs.

He later came back and said, "So the reason why I got upset is because I traveled across the whole world to come here and I dedicated my life to this. I dedicated my life to performing, I dedicate my life to bringing smiles to people's faces, and I feel like people just aren't giving me the same respect back, and courtesy. That's all."

Manchester wasn't the first show where Bieber expressed his frustration with over-enthusiastic fans. During the Birmingham, England, stop of his tour, he asked the crowd to pipe down while he's performing.

"Can you guys do me a favor? Can you guys just relax for about two seconds?" the singer asked the crowd. "I get it, I get it, but I'm like two feet away from you. And I can hear you. I appreciate all the love, it's amazing. But can you show it in a different way? Screaming is just so obnoxious."

Many fans took to Twitter to react to the pop star's request, many labeling it "rude."

"Actually unsure about @justinbieber tonight now after how rude he's been to his fans," wrote one user. Another said, "Paid £70 to see Justin Bieber to come out, mime and be rude to everyone for screaming."
