Justin Bieber, Canadian, Realizes He Has Skin in the 2016 Presidential Election

Justin Bieber has said he's "Sorry." He's fallen down and gotten back up, only to fall down again. He's on a very public journey to figuring out his place in the world, something that most twentysomething year olds can relate. And as of today, he's one step closer to self-actualization thanks to a very important geo-political realization.

"I'm Canadian," Bieber wrote in a tweet this afternoon, "and I stay out of this stuff but I live in the U.S. and this is important. Register." He's encouraging his U.S. fans that are eligible to register to vote, of course, retweeting his longtime manager Scooter Braun.

TMZ recently reported that Bieber was considering a $5 million offer in exchange for a 45-minute set after the Republican National Convention, underwritten by the G.O.P., until Braun threatened to part ways with his star student. (A staunch Hillary Clinton supporter, Braun threw a fundraiser for the presidential nominee at his home last summer.) A couple of Braun's other charges, Ariana Grande and rapper Lil Dicky (née David Burd), joined still more singer/songwriter celebrities who urged fans to register to vote in their chosen parlance this afternoon as well.

But one Canadian's humble wish is not the only thing we learned about Bieber within a ten-minute tweet spree. According to the missives that bookended his call to action, Bieber also loves Beyoncé and this video of a man dressed like a Roberto Cavalli-type saying "pen," "pineapple," and "apple" to a beat. It's called "PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)." Not that that shouldn't take away from the seriousness of his political ask. Bieber, like America, contains multitudes.
