Scooter Braun on Gun Control: 'We Need to Make the Right Decisions for the Next Generation'

Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun joined the conversation about gun control in the U.S. following Saturday night's horrific Orlando nightclub shooting that left 50 dead and 53 injured – the largest mass shooting in the country's history – and the tragic death of The Voice singer Christina Grimmie the night before, in a separate Orlando shooting. In a post on Instagram, Braun urged others to "choose to make a difference," supporting the idea of a gun control system that would protect future generations' safety and freedoms.

Braun, who recently added Kanye West to his client roster, shared an image to his followers that read "We can do more," once on Saturday (June 11) and again on Sunday (June 12).

"Last night I was thinking about our nation...my son...this world...what I am contributing to it.. And I posted this...and today I post it again," Braun wrote Sunday evening.

"I'm not asking Americans to lose rights..I'm not asking everyone to turn in their guns," he said. "I'm asking my fellow Americans to acknowledge we need a system to protect our future and the freedoms we claim to hold so dear. We need gun control laws to add to our freedoms not take away. We need to make the right decisions for the next generation."

"I have so much more to say but for now all I will say is how many more speeches and tragedies will it take? We only get a certain amount of time on this earth and our responsibility is to our kids. How can we look our sons and daughters in the eye with all we have now seen and not try? Not try to better this world for THEM!? We are better than this. God bless America.. But God isn't going to change this... He gave us free choice. Let's choose to make a difference."

While Braun's client Bieber has not commented on this weekend's tragedies as of press time, he did speak about his views on gun control in an interview with France's Clique TV back in September.

"In Canada, we don't really have any guns and there's no gun violence, so that really solves it," Bieber commented. "I mean, they think that it's for protection and stuff, but it always ends up in some bozo's hand."
