Bieber, Skrillex refute claim they stole vocal hook in 'Sorry'

Perhaps there's no need to say sorry, after all.

Acclaimed DJ Skrillex refuted recent accusations that he and Justin Bieber stole the vocal hook in their song "Sorry" by sharing a short video showing how he created the song.

In the 30-second clip, Skrillex plays an original a cappella demo of "Sorry" performed by co-writer Julia Michaels.

The EDM hit-maker, who produced the song for Bieber, then cuts out a portion of her rendition, changes the pitch and manipulates the semitones — leaving him with the distinct female vocal riff used in "Sorry."

Justin Bieber sued for allegedly stealing vocal riff in 'Sorry'

"SORRY but we didn't steal this," he captioned the video.

Bieber doubled down on the defense a few hours later by replying to Skrillex's video with the hashtag "#wedontsteal."

The tweets were in response to a lawsuit filed by indie artist White Hinterland, who claims Bieber and Skrillex ripped off the vocal riff from her 2014 song, "Ring The Bell."

In a lengthy Facebook post Thursday, the artist said she reached out to Bieber's camp to stop sampling her song multiple times to no avail.

Justin Bieber spotted on dinner date with Nicola Peltz

"The writers, producers, and performers of 'Sorry' did not obtain a license for this exploitation of my work, nor did they obtain or seek my permission," she wrote. "Yesterday afternoon, I filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement against Justin Bieber and the other responsible parties."

The 31-year-old singer, whose real name is Casey Dienel, is seeking an undisclosed amount of money in the lawsuit and wants Bieber to stop circulating the hook, according to legal documents obtained by the Daily News.

"Justin Bieber is the world's biggest artist, and I'm sure that he and his team will launch a full attack against me," she concluded her post. "But, in the end, I was left with no other option. I believe I have an obligation to stand up for my music and art."
