The Big 10 with Jeff D'Alessio, May 13, 2018

Back by popular demand, we asked members of the high school Class of 2018: What are the top three items on your 10-year bucket list? (Coming the next two Sundays: Same question for seniors at 20 other area high schools).

DYLANN HALL
Georgetown-Ridge Farm

1. Make it through medical school — without selling any vital organs on the black market.

2. Marry my high school sweetheart.

3. Learn to embrace who I am and not try to change myself.

MORGAN BROWN
Bismarck-Henning

1. See 'Hamilton' on Broadway.

2. Adopt a dog — or two, or 10 — from an animal shelter.

3. Smile more and spread positivity. Even if I am having a bad day, I can at least try to brighten someone else's.

MICHAEL LEE
St. Thomas More

1. Discover or witness the discovery of a promising cure for mental disorders. I have faith that one of us will be able to accomplish this within the next 10 years.

2. Travel to Fairbanks, Alaska, to see the northern lights. I have yet to observe such a cool phenomenon.

3. Talk less about my country and do more to serve my country.

SKYLER CHESNUT
Heritage

1. After graduating from Indiana State University, where I'll major in engineering technology and minor in mathematics, further my education by getting my master's degree.

2. Show the world what women really can do. I want more women to step out of their comfort zone and find their place — like I did.

3. Eat a lot of tacos — because how can you go wrong with tacos?

JACEY GOIN
Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley

1. Travel the world and visit places no one has ever heard of. My favorite part of traveling is meeting people who live there and hearing their stories.

2. Invent something that could save someone's life someday. I'm going to school to become a biomedical engineer. Hopefully, my ideas will be used to make a difference.

3. Live in a log cabin by the lake. It's my goal to wake up every morning and watch the sunrise out on the porch.

MARYEMMA YORK
Danville

1. Fluently learn a computer coding language.

2. After graduating from Missouri University of Science & Technology, commission as an Army officer in the Corps of Engineers and travel abroad — whether that means living on a military base in Japan or building clean water systems in third world countries in Africa.

3. Become an advocate for encouraging more women to join the STEM field.

WILL COHAN
Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond

1. Go to Antarctica and slide down the ice with the penguins.

2. Attend a Justin Bieber concert with my friends and sing along to every song.

3. Become a dentist and move down south and open an office.

NOAH PIERCE
Tuscola

1. Study abroad. I don't care where it is I go, I just want to experience education and agriculture in another country.

2. Get drafted by the Chicago Cubs and pitch in the World Series.

3. My friends and I already own a small boat, but in 10 years I would like to buy a yacht with them and sail around the world together.

NATHAN KOENIGS
Monticello

1. As an aspiring architect, one of the main things on my bucket list is to visit as many famous buildings as possible, like the Farnsworth House and the Dana-Thomas House.

2. Hike Pikes Peak in Colorado.

3. Graduate from college with under $100,000 of debt.

AYIANA MARQUEZ
Cissna Park

1. Volunteer at an orphanage. I love helping people, and doing this has been a dream of mine for a while. I definitely think it's achievable in the next 10 years — hopefully, more than once.

2. Continually educate myself. I will be done with college within the next 10 years but I hope to never stop learning. I want to remain educated and learn new things every day — that's not limited to a classroom.

3. See the Seven Wonders of the World, an excellent example of all of the amazing things that have been created in the past. I hope that they can inspire everyone to create a world of equally marvelous places.
