Selena Gomez, Paul Rudd, and Justin Theroux Have a Pre-Met Gala Outing

Last weekend, Selena Gomezplayed fifth wheel in what may be the strangest role to date. Gomez was out in New York on Sunday with her friend Petra Collins, Collins's new boyfriend, Justin Theroux,Paul Rudd, and Rudd's wife, Julie Yaeger.Rooney Mara was also there, because why not?

Since Theroux and Jennifer Aniston announced their divorce in February, Theroux has been getting in touch with his inner streetwear-loving youth. In April, he was photographed sitting on a stoop in New York wearing a Louis Vuitton backpack and giving the bro handshake to a passing-by Jonah Hill in a tie-dye T-shirt. He's also been dating Collins, 25, a photographer and artist. Oh, and he wears a lot of Supreme.

As for Gomez, the Coach spokeswoman carried a cross-body bag by the brand, and wore a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt topped with a tan Manning Cartell coat. She finished the look with a pair of Alexandre Vauthier combat boots. Later in the day, she changed into a pair of loose black pants and a white tank top, with a patterned blue shawl on top for a night out in the city.

Gomez is presumably in town for Monday night's Met Gala. During last year's event, she made her public debut with her then-boyfriend the Weeknd, but her romantic life as of late has involved a lot of breaking up and making up with one Justin Bieber. But for those hoping for the pair to reunite for the Gala's red carpet, don't hold your breath.
