Now, celebs turn to apps to connect with fans

Be it politicians, movie celebrities or sports personalities, everybody's strength is based on their loyal followers. While fans anxiously want to know about their idol's personal and professional life, imposters feed off this curiosity and come up with falsehoods and fake profiles. To curb the menace of fake news and also to interact with their fans, celebrities are now turning to apps to give fans an exclusive view into their life.

"I feel more than the celebs, the fans need it because they will be one click away from their favourite personalities instead of waiting for their updates and even celebs love interacting with their fans on a daily basis," said Akarsh Ayappa, who is the manager for actor Vijay Devarakonda.

Taking inspiration from the Hollywood celebs like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber, desi stars have also started their own apps and the fans love it!

Here are a few celebrated personalities who launched their own apps:

Sonam Kapoor

The fashionista is the first Indian celebrity to launch her own official app along with emoticons. The app which is named after her acts like a personal channel between the actor and fans. The application has various sections like StyleMafia, workohol, friends and messages, to name a few. It also gives fans updates about her work, fashion tips and even her social life.

Remo D'Souza

Choreographer-director Remo D'Souza launched his app which also provides a major platform to discover talent apart from being in touch with his beloved fans. The app also runs contests where participants can win prizes in the form of choreography classes from Remo himself and sometimes, he also features some winners in his films.

Narendra Modi

It's not just film stars who are making the most out of technology. Politicians have also joined this club to cash in on public sentiments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his own app which gives his followers information about him and the progress India has made under his governance. Other important features include quotes from the PM, his speeches, interviews etc.

PV Sindhu

Sports personalities are revered and celebrated as much as movie celebs. Indian shuttler PV Sindhu launched her own app named 'PV Sindhu official App', where fans can interact with Sindhu directly, participate in various contests to increase their star ratings and upload videos. Fans also get to interact with other fans and form their own communities through the app.

Rakul Preet

The Dhuva actor also launched her own app owing to the fake news that circulated about her online. Like other celebrity, her app is also extremely interactive and has various sections like access, fan power, be seen which she uses to engage with fans.
