Millennials, Justin Bieber has some pearls of wisdom about the virtual world

What's that feeling we get when we scroll through our favourite celebs' Instagram accounts? That their lives are just picture-perfect and ours doesn't match up at all. It's called jealousy — the green-eyed monster — and a little bit of FOMO all stirred into one. But Justin Bieber is here to break that myth.

In an Instagram post, Bieber shared the dark truth behind the glamorous life of celebrities.

"Hey world that glamorous lifestyle you see portrayed by famous people on Instagram don't be fooled thinking their life is better than yours I can promise you it's not!" he wrote. 

Interestingly, Bieber's Instagram posts came just hours after the Met Gala, which saw celebrities putting their best foot forward on the red carpet all in the spirit of fashion. Of course, they had to put it up on social media, like why else would one dress up? And someone's once-upon-a-time better half was there, too. Ahem. 

But more about Jelena's on-again-off-again relationship later. For now, let's focus on Bieber's words, perhaps his truest in a long time. Social media is just a tool for picking out the best bits of life and sharing them on a grid, while completely ignoring the everyday crap we face. So why be fooled by a facade, right? Beliebe it or not, Bieber is right about this one.
