The yodelling boy who has bizarrely become a viral sensation over the last fortnight has hit the career big-time: performing at Coachella.
Mason Ramsey, 11, shot to overnight stardom when a video of him performing Hank Williams' 'Lovesick Blues' in a Walmart supermarket in Illinois caught the attention of the internet.
Mason's straight-faced performance style, vocal dexterity and cowboy attire made him an instant meme, and there were calls for him to be invited to perform at Coachella.
The annual California music festival always features a star-studded line-up, with Beyoncé, Eminem and The Weeknd all set to perform this year.
Now Mason is among them.
During DJ Whethan's set on Friday afternoon, the young country singer walked onstage to perform in front of a crowd of thousands. The audience went wild when they saw who the surprise guest was, with many filming on their phones and singing along to Mason's signature tune.
Justin Bieber was there too, with footage showing him dancing wildly to the music. After finishing his performance, Mason posed for selfies with the 24-year-old singer.
Whethan is an 18-year-old American DJ who invited Mason to join him onstage after people on social media said the two looked alike.
Mason was clearly excited about the opportunity, practising his yodelling on the plane ride to California.
His performance was met with universal acclaim on social media. Some called his appearance "inspiring" and "pure", while others said it was "the most 2018 thing ever".
Despite his young age, Mason is an experienced performer who has been singing Hank Williams covers since he was three years-old.
