It looks like pretty much nothing, except Hemsworth's facial hair, has changed. Same hair, same smile, same hot couple glow.
But, actually, a lot happened between the two photographs: A year and a half after the first one, in September 2013, Hemsworth and Cyrus would break up and call off their engagement. The Bangerz era happened for Cyrus. Hemsworth starred in the Hunger Games trilogy. They both were with other people (Cyrus notably with Patrick Schwarzenegger and Stella Maxwell; Hemsworth was photographed kissing Eiza González shortly after the breakup).
They found their way back to each other at the end of 2015, and in January 2016, Cyrus posted a photo of herself wearing her engagement ring again, after returning from a trip where her and Hemsworth were hanging in Australia.

In October of 2016, Cyrus would confirm to Ellen DeGeneres that, yes, the two were engaged again. And here they are now, looking as happily coupled-up as ever at their second Oscar night date.

Cyrus and Hemsworth started the night at the Elton John AIDS Foundation's 26th annual Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood. Cyrus wore a pink and silver sparkly cutout dress, which she accessorized with a wink, then changed into a black and ivory satin dress before going to the Vanity Fair party.
