Did you know these acts played RodeoHouston?

RodeoHouston is built on predictability. Cowboys? Check. Carnival? Check. Concerts? Check. C&C Music Factory? Not so fast. Amid the country stalwarts and repeat acts, RodeoHouston often throws a curveball into the concert lineup. This year's surprise entry is reggaeton performer J Balvin, who'll probably draw a big crowd behind his worldwide hit "Mi Gente." Here's a look at some of the unlikely acts who've popped up in past years, often just once.

Clayton Moore: The Lone Ranger rode into the hearts of Houston fans in 1946.

Lassie: The biggest star on TV did a few tricks in 1962.

Buddy Ebsen and Irene Ryan: "The Beverly Hillbillies" stars took the stage in 1968.

Tiffany: The teen idol was still very much in the game in 1988.

Exposé: The girl group was just coming off a run of seven top 10 singles in 1990.

C&C Music Factory: The hit-making machine was running strong in 1991.

Stevie B: The freestyle singer made the crowd dance in 1991.

Color Me Badd: The year was 1992, and they wanted to sex you up.

Juanes: The Colombian superstar was part of the 2002 lineup.

Bob Dylan: The legendary performer made his only appearance in 2002.

LL Cool J: Rapper, actor and RodeoHouston 2003 performer.

Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson: They were still very much "Newlyweds" in 2004.

Cheetah Girls: The Disney Channel movie-turned-girl band was here in 2007.

Solange: The younger Knowles sister opened for Gladys Knight in 2009.

Justin Bieber: He was just a superstar-in-training in 2010.

The Chainsmokers: It was just last year when RodeoHouston became a massive rave.
