TOWIE star James Lock has defended his new hairstyle against fans who slammed his sweeping fringe.
The reality TV favourite, 31, said his "Justin Bieber" mop was only temporary and meant to disguise a hair transplant that hasn't yet healed.
In a post accompanying a picture of him and girlfriend Yazmin Oukhellou, 24, he wrote: "For everyone wondering what's going on with my hair, 2 weeks ago I had a hair operation and it hasn't healed yet!
"Hence the bieber hairstyle!! This is not my new look!
"You will be glad to know you will never see this hairstyle again, but thanks for the feedback 😊 it's all love."
The Essex heartthrob debuted the dramatic restyle at the National Television Awards on Tuesday.
In another Instagram post from the night he asked fans what they thought of his new locks.
Appearing to take mickey out of himself, he wrote: "What's everyone think of my new bieber haircut!? 😩 #belieber."
However, fans wrongly thought his thick, swooping fringe - that made him look very similar to singer Justin, 23 - was the final result of the hair transplant he underwent earlier this month.
There was a mixed response followers, with many saying they were glad he underwent the procedure if it makes him happy, but preferring his old style.
One wrote: "No to the hair omg soz but no."
The star has been open with fans about the procedure, and shared a series of images of the process.
James posted some eye-opening pictures of his hair reconstruction procedure on Instagram.
His latest hairstyle is a world away from the classic look he normally sports.
