If an artist is not evolving, then they're standing still, and that's no fun for anyone. Progress cannot wait, and so in this edition of Clash, we are celebrating the artistic endeavours of those individuals determined to transcend their own accepted roles and devise new objectives to pursue.
"I have to find my own path again," says this issue's second cover star, Danish pop rebel MØ, as she reveals to Clash the intrepid journey she faces in bringing to life her "difficult second album" in the wake of the chart-smashing collaborative successes she scored that eclipsed her own 2014 debut, 'No Mythologies To Follow'.
Accompanying Major Lazer on Number One hits 'Lean On' (with DJ Snake) and 'Cold Water' (with Justin Bieber) propelled MØ to a new level of renown, while releases with Iggy Azalea, Charli XCX, Cashmere Cat and Snakehips have cultivated her astute pop talents, but now is the time to replicate that fortune in her own right, and there's no doubt her uncompromising punk/DIY roots will ensure those next steps won't be anything but sensational.
Also in this issue is Natalia Dyer, Rina Sawayama, Shame, R.E.M., BØRNS, blackbear, Mike Love, Roy Woods, David Guetta, Not3s, Prince, Yxng Bane, Yonaka, and much more. The final cover star is being unveiled tomorrow - watch this space.
