As if getting his girl, Selena Gomez back wasn't enough. Justin Bieber is getting a music exhibit in his hometown, Stratford Ontario.
Mementoes from Bieber's years as a Canadian singer will go on display in the Stratford Perth Museum on Feb. 18th 2018. The museum will be called 'Steps to Stardom'.
The exhibit was created by the singer's grandparents, Diane and Bruce Dale as well as the museum's curators. Diane and Bruce offered the curators access to Bieber's items from his childhood and career.
According to the John Kastner, the General Manager of the Stratford Perth Museum, organizers have been considering a Bieber exhibit for some time now. Plans didn't become official until the summer of 2016, when Conservative MP, Peter Van Loan, visited the museum and noticed that there was no acknowledgement of Bieber's history in the city.
What Will Bieber's Exhibit Include?
Although, Loan wasn't the only person to ask about a potential exhibit for the "What Do You Mean" singer, Kastner said, his reaction to the exhibit left an unforgettable impression on him.
"This was a former cabinet master. That sort of stuck with me," Kastner said.
Kastner also mentioned that Bieber was really excited and appreciated the exhibit.
"We had a very brief conversation with him here, and he was very appreciative - couldn't have been nicer, and just expressed how much he appreciated the fact that the museum was doing the exhibit," Kastner continued.
According to sources, the exhibit will display Bieber's Grammy Award, a hockey bag, microphones and personal letters, including one from Michelle Obama.
Originally, over a hundred items were collected, but they will be narrowed down between 50 and 75 pieces. The museum plans to add new pieces as time passes.
While, this is Bieber's first official exhibit in Stratford, in 2010, the Stratford board unveiled a "Bieber-iffic Map" that highlighted 24 cities that linked to the songwriter.
"Beliebers" took to Twitter to express their excitement about the exhibit.
the fact that they are making a museum exhibition for Justin Bieber called 'steps to stardom' in his hometown Ontario, Canada makes me beyond proud and just shows how far he's come from busking at 13 years old and the journey he's taken to become one of the worlds biggest artists
