It was just a matter of time - Justin Bieber is to be honoured with a new exhibition in his home town in Stratford, Ontario, Canada in February.
The exhibit is titled, "Steps to Stardom" - a reference to the young singer's busking shows on the steps outside the local Avon Theatre.
The museum's general manager, John Kastner, says organizers worked with Bieber's grandparents, Diane and Bruce Dale, to curate a selection of items to be featured.
Among the items donated by the Dales, and by Bieber himself, are his hockey bag and jacket from his time with the Stratford Warriors in minor hockey; recording microphones; backstage credentials; running shoes; T-shirts; personal letters; photographs; his Grammy, Emmy and Teen Choice awards, and the platinum record for his debut album, My World - released in 2009.
Canadian tourism is about to get a Justin Bieber boost. "We can keep things for safe-keeping (here)".
Kastner added, "Justin couldn't have been nicer and was so genuinely appreciative, so it's nice to see it firsthand - a hometown kid who rocketed to global superstardom is okay with getting his own coffee and loves his family".
Everton's Barkley close to Chelsea switch
He has good prospects for Chelsea . "He's very young, he has a lot of space for improvement". "He is very strong, good technique". I gave my opinion to the club but the club then decides the players we can buy or sell. "The club signs the players, not me".
"This was a [former] cabinet minister", he said.
About six months ago, Kastner rung up Bieber's grandparents who thought the idea was great.
Kastner discovered Bieber's grandparents held a veritable chamber of treasures from his past. The collection includes a large collection of running shoes - 50 pairs to be exact - each from a show during one of Justin's concert tours. Seeing Bieber's childhood stomping grounds has been a highlight for many visitors to the small city for years. It has proven so popular that printed copies will soon be available at the board's office.
The museum's organizers are hoping that the "Steps to Stardom" exhibit appeals to Bieber's loyal fan base.
"I think it's a job for museums to tell stories and this is a great story".
