Stars past and present from any genre in the entertainment industry are rip picking for a biopic these days.
And the late Queen of Tejano music, Selena Quintanilla, is now getting a TV drama inspired by the events in her extraordinary life made.
It's been announced that ABC are currently developing an untitled show, which is being described as a 'family drama'. The show counts Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun amongst its producers, as well as a number of Selena's family.
Teenvogue.com reports: 'The series focuses on Alex Guerra, a chart-topping, award-winning pop star who has been estranged from her family for 5 years.
'She tries to pick up the pieces when a crisis forces her to return home. Alex finds herself back in Texas, juggling a love triangle, the demands of her career and the dark secrets of the family that she now desperately wants to win back.'
Though the show has the 'full support' of Selena's family it is still only inspired by her life. So, an actress won't be playing Selena in any capacity, and events in the show will be works of fiction.
The website goes on to report that a pilot episode has already been granted by the network, which means a search for a star has already begun.
Scooter, who is attached as producer for the series is 'proud' to be spearheading a Latin family drama, which he says highlights 'the complexities and family dynamics of a Latin pop superstar coming to grips with the reality of her influence, especially in today's social climate'.
Selena first shot to fame in 1989 when she released her self-titled first album, which reached number seven in the US charts. Her second Ven Conmigo went to number three, and that in turn was followed by two number one LPs.
She quickly became the face Tejano music (Tex-mex music), but also went on to model and act. The singer's murder in 1995 hit headlines across the US, when she was gunned down at a motel by an ex-employee Yolanda SaldÃvar.
