Selena Gomez Opens Up About Her Faith: 'I'm A Child Of God'

After a rough few years, including a life-saving kidney transplant and a reunion with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez now feels closer than ever to God.

At a recent Hillsong Church conference —a congregation both she and Bieber frequent—the "Wolves" singer gave an emotional and teary testimonial talking about her long relationship with Spirit.

In the video where she reads from a letter, the 25-year-old singer talks about the immense "pressure" she felt as a celebrity and idol and how she felt she didn't "know" God though she prayed nightly.

"You will live out your mistakes in front of the world; you will be picked apart completely."

The vulnerable singer beautifully shares how at the height of her popularity,  she began to feel smaller and smaller. "You will feel like the loud screams from thousands of people while you are onstage will be the thing that saves you, but it isn't."

Gomez famously canceled her Revival tour last year to enter a treatment center in Tennessee telling Vogue at the time: "I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks right before getting on-stage, or right after leaving the stage."

Part of the Tejana's recovery brought her closer to her spirituality.  She shares that she did eventually find her faith on her 23rd birthday, declaring that is when God became "real."

"Eight years later, you will be sitting in a service and everything within you will shift. The Holy Spirit will speak louder than anything that has called for your attention."

She concludes by saying:

"Selena, you are enough! Not because you've tried hard, not because you have loved hard or put on your best face. Not because you have been given a large platform and not because others tell you 'you are enough,'" she declared. "You are enough because you are a child of God who has been pursued from the very beginning. You are enough because His grace has saved you and covered you. And every good thing you do will flow from this truth. What you give to others will always be an overflow of what He has given to you. Selena you don't have to try so hard. You can rest."

What a beautiful message! We're thrilled after a challenging time—physically and emotionally—Gomez seems more peaceful and confident than ever! Amen!
