Is Selena Gomez living with her mom and is Justin Bieber banned from their home? Those are the false allegations being spread by a tabloid this week. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
In a story from OK!headlined "Selena's Mom Takes Control," it's alleged Gomez is living under her mother's roof and Bieber is not permitted to visit. The gossip magazine explains the supposed living arrangement as a result of the singer-actress' "tumultuous six months," involving a "life-saving kidney transplant, a breakup and a reconciliation." Gomez is "taking a time-out where she feels safest: back home with her mom, Mandy Teefey," contends the outlet, which goes on to assert, "But returning to the nest mean a new set of rules."
"While Selena is living there, she has to do what her mother says," a so-called "insider" claims to the publication, which maintains that includes "staying away from her on-again beau." The supposed source alleges Teefey has "banned [Bieber] from the house and has given Selena an 11 p.m. curfew. She won't even let him bring by a Christmas gift!" But all of these contentions are inaccurate.
For starters, Gomez is neither living with her mom nor forced to abide by a curfew. A source close to the mother-daughter pair exclusively tells Gossip Cop that there's "no truth at all" to the claims. Furthermore, Bieber is completely welcome at Gomez's house. In fact, since their reunion, Bieber's car has been photographed at Gomez's home multiple times.
It's possible OK! concocted this narrative because Bieber wasn't invited to spend Thanksgiving with Gomez's family in Texas last month. But she is not primarily residing in Texas or sharing a home with her mother. It is true, as People recently reported, that Gomez's family isn't exactly thrilled she and her ex are back together. But the relationship is moving forward, anyway, and the notion that Bieber has been banned from Gomez's L.A. residence is patently false.
