According to TMZ, a 2016 lawsuit filed by indie musician Casey Dienel—better known as White Hinterland—over Justin Bieber's "Sorry" hook, has been dropped.
Dienel reportedly filed documents to dismiss the copyright infringement case, in which she accused him of stealing an eight-second vocal loop from her 2014 song "Ring the Bell," on Monday.
It's unclear whether she and Bieber reached a settlement.

The drama began with a since-deleted Facebook post in which Dienel accused Bieber, 23, of copying a prominent portion of her track without her permission.
"The writers, producers and performers of 'Sorry' did not obtain a license for this exploitation of my work, nor did they obtain or seek my permission. Yesterday afternoon, I filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement against Justin Bieber and the other responsible parties," Dienel wrote, according to Rolling Stone.
"Like most artists that sample music, Bieber could have licensed my song for use in 'Sorry.' But he chose not to contact me."
At the time, Dienel claimed she had "no other option" but to sue Bieber and his collaborators over the allegedly stolen song portion.

The outlet reported that Skrillex, who produced "Sorry," was also named in the suit.
Although Bieber never publicly responded to Dienel's filing against him, Skrillex took to Twitter to prove both his and the Canadian pop star's innocence.
He shared a video that showed how he tweaked demo vocals recorded by Julia Michaels and looped a section of her chorus to create the vocal hook Dienel claimed the stole.
The video discredited Dienel's claims Bieber and the others named in the lawsuit "manipulated and/or altered" her song "by adding additional effects," Pitchfork reported at the time.

Very few other details, including how much she was seeking in the suit, ever came to light.
