Selena Gomez Shows Off New Bangs as She Preps for AMAs Performance: 'TodayIsTheDay'

Selena Gomez is celebrating her American Music Awards performance by changing up her hairstyle.

Taking a break from getting ready for the big day, the "Wolves" singer showed off her new bangs in a photo she shared to her Instagram story. She captioned the clip, "TodayIsTheDay."

Although fans of her new fringe may be in for heartbreak as it's not yet clear whether Gomez made the chop permanent or it's just a wig for the weekend.

Later, the "Wolves" singer gave her fans a sneak peek into her AMAs prep, as she posted a video of her toes and fingernails, which appeared to be painted the same dark color.

Gomez's performance at the AMAs will be her first since undergoing surgery for a kidney transplant. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter will perform her brand new single "Wolves" at the awards show, where she took home the prize for favorite female artist, pop/rock in 2016.

Fans were also given a sneak peek at what her performance will look like as both Gomez and photographer Petra Collins shared a series of black-and-white photographs featuring multiple women — including Gomez — wearing white dresses.

There's also some speculation that Gomez might bring along Justin Bieber for the event.

Although multiple sources told PEOPLE the duo are still not officially back together and are taking a more low-key approach to their relationship, they appeared close on Wednesday night when they were photographed kissing at Bieber's weekly hockey game at the Los Angeles Valley Ice Center in Ventura, California.

"Justin is still very happy. They have had quiet date nights at home and outings to local, low-key sports," a Bieber pal told PEOPLE exclusively. "They are still catching up and just enjoying hanging out. They have learned from past mistakes and are not putting any pressure on each other. Things are much different and more mature."
