More than 40,000 fans descended on Principality Stadium for pop star's gig
A TEENAGE boy has appeared in court accused of planning a "London Bridge-style terror attack" at a Justin Bieber concert in Cardiff.
The 17-year-old is charged with obtaining a knife and hammer and preparing a suicide note for an attack on June 30 when more than 40,000 fans were descending on the Principality Stadium for the gig.
Daily Mail reports that the teenager wanted to hijack a vehicle and was arrested hours before the event at a rural location.
The teenager, from South Wales who cannot be identified because of his age, is also charged with posting an image and comment on Instagram to encourage others to commit acts of terror.
The Daily Mail claimed cops suspect the A-Level student was radicalised online.
The paper also reports that he is from a white British family and social media profiles show the rugby-mad boy enjoying nature watching and fishing.
The boy, wearing a dark jumper and light grey trousers, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court, sitting as a youth court, in London today.
Standing to confirm his name, address and date of birth, he folded his arms and at one point appeared to wipe his eye.
He was arrested last week by officers from counter terror cops from Wales and the West Midlands with assistance from MI5.
Senior district judge Emma Arbuthnot remanded him to youth detention accommodation until his next appearance at the Old Bailey in London on July 20.
Three terrorists wearing stab-proof vests drove a van into pedestrians at 50mph on London Bridge before attacking revellers with hunting knives on June 3.
The attack left eight people dead and up to 48 injured in the capital.
