Madison Beer has urged other women to 'speak up' and 'not stay in an abusive relationship' following her own experience.

Angelina Jolie 'refuses to put pressure on kids' careers'

Earlier this month leaked audio seemed to show the 18-year-old singer being verbally abused by her boyfriend Jack Gilinsky during an argument.

Madison has now responded to the leak saying the video was 'real' and urging women to seek help rather than 'sit there in silence and stay in an abusive relationship' and reminding them that they are 'not alone'.

Initially, following the incident, the star posted a message to fans on Tuesday before then deleting it.

In the since deleted tweet, Beer, a Youtube star who made it big after Justin Bieber tweeted a link to a video of her singing, said she stayed with Gilinsky to try and 'fix him'.

The post on Saturday, in which she urged women to 'speak up', came following the deleted post.

Jack Gilinsky took to social media last week to apologise for his words and actions in the 2016 recording saying: 'There's no way of justifying the words that came out of my mouth in that audio file'.

In the audio, a voice allegedly belonging to Jack is heard saying 'fucking slut' and 'guess what, who can get any girl they fucking want?', according to Teen Vogue.

A voice thought to be Madison's is heard saying: 'You're not my boyfriend anymore.'

Madison's mother, Tracie, also got involved commenting on Gilinsky's post to tell him she had 'forgiven' him.

She wrote: 'As upsetting as it was to hear you speak to @madisonbeer that way it was also so upsetting to hear that audio leaked & read all the derogatory comments towards you!

'You know how I feel about you. You're a kind, well raised young man who spoke in anger which took me over 30 years to realize you should never do.

'Like you said, there is no excuse for your actions but you are human & like us all you made a mistake. For whatever it's worth I forgive you, given hopefully you've learned a valuable lesson! This too shall pass Jackalindo.'

Representatives for Madison Beer and Jack Gilinsky have been contacted for comment.
