Justin Bieber does not want an "Australian wife," despite a report wrongly claiming his pastor is trying to find him a bride Down Under. Gossip Cop can debunk this nonsense.
The silly allegation comes from the Australian gossip magazine NW. The superstar was recently in Sydney for a church conference, which is apparently why this tale is featured on the cover of the tabloid's latest issue, declaring he wants to find an "Aussie bride" with help from Hillsong Church. The story specifically claims Bieber asked Carl Lentz and his "his Hillsong Church friends to help him track down true love" by holding "auditions" with women from the country.
A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Justin really trusts Carl like a brother and thinks he can help him find the woman he's meant to be with." This purported snitch goes on to allege of the singer, "He really loves Aussie girls… that's no secret!" Um, okay. Yet in another recent cover story, NW was speculating Bieber was the real father of Kourtney Kardashian's son, Reign Disick. That's how ridiculous the outlet's stories are.
And the Daily Mail, while noting this report is "bizarre," still picked up all the suspect information for a sensational article on its website, and gave no indication that it even attempted to fact-check the claims before sloppily regurgitating them. Gossip Cop, however, took time to investigate, and now our suspicions were confirmed: NW made up this story out of thin air.
The Aussie tabloid actually has a history of doing just that. In 2015, the dubious publication fabricated a story about Bieber supposedly having a "hook up" with Britney Spears after the MTV Video Music Awards. More recently, we busted the magazine in April for wrongly alleging Taylor Swift and Harry Styles were getting back together. Time proved Gossip Cop's debunkings were accurate in both cases, and time will again show we're right now with this claim about Bieber looking for an Australian wife.
