Will Stillman, speaking on the TinCaps' radio broadcast Monday night, opened a window to some of his personality.
Stillman admires the acting of Ashton Kutcher, who grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which, like Fort Wayne, has a Midwest League franchise. And when it comes to music, Stillman likes to listen to Justin Bieber.
"I enjoy everything (Kutcher) does," Stillman said. "Justin Bieber is hot right now. New Justin, old Justin. It doesn't matter."
Stillman is going for his second win tonight after getting his first last week in the TinCaps' 7-4 win over South Bend. The 23-year-old right-hander pitched well in June, striking out 12 in nine innings.
Lake County, which lost the series opener 4-0 Tuesday night, sends Luis Jimenez to the mound. He started against Fort Wayne twice last month. The first time, Jimenez went 4 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on on five hits with six strikeouts. The second time, he lasted six innings and held the TinCaps three runs on four hits while racking up 11 strikeouts.
No word on whether they will play Bieber songs at Parkview Field tonight, but it might put the home team's starter at ease and appeal to kids still amped from a holiday weekend.
Here is the lineup behind Stillman:
Reinaldo Ilarraza SS
Buddy Reed CF
Jorge Oña LF
Brad Zunica 1B
Marcus Greene Jr. C
Hudson Potts 3B
Jack Suwinski RF
G.K. Young DH
Nate Easley 2B
