Electronic rock duo Phantogram will headline the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on Sept. 2.
The $25 tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Etix, by phone at 800-514-3849 and in person at the State Fair's ticket office. New York indie rock band Lucius and local favorites Now, Now open the concert, which is sponsored by 89.3 The Current.
Phantogram play slick electronic songs influenced by Portishead and Prince. On their most recent album "Three," they worked with some heavy hitters behind the scenes, including producers/writers The-Dream (Rihanna, Justin Bieber), Tricky Stewart (Mariah Carey, Katy Perry) and Ricky Reed (Meghan Trainor, Twenty One Pilots). Minnesota's own Dan Wilson also contributed to the record, with writing credits on nine of the 10 tracks.
"Fall in Love," "Black Out Days," "You Don't Get Me High Anymore" and "Same Old Blues" are among the group's radio hits. Phantogram has sold out local club shows, including a concert on opening weekend of St. Paul's Palace Theatre in March.
The Phantogram concert completes this summer's Grandstand lineup. The Minnesota State Fair runs from Aug. 24 through Sept. 4.
