MUMBAI-The crowd turned into a choir as pop sensation Justin Bieber kick-started his maiden India concert with his chart topping number "Mark My Words" from his latest album "Purpose".
Thus, the couple had to immediately leave the venue. Vipasha Sharma, a 19-year-old "Belieber" who visited the airport on Monday to catch a glimpse of the 23-year-old singer, said, "When the concert was announced I cried as I have eagerly waited for him to perform in India. I expected him to sing LIVE, but he just sounds like his songs on my playlist", she said. Indian DJs Sartek and Zaeden performed the opening act followed by Alan Walker.
This was his first concert in India and some of the "Beliebers" who had queued up from the am to watch him were actually reduced to tears. While many expressed their excitement and praised the concert, several took to twitter to express their anger after Justin lip-synced few songs.
There were many Bollywood celebs in attendance, including Alia Bhatt, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora, Pooja Hegde, Urvashi Rautela, Raveena Tandon and Arjun Rampal at the event, many of them with their kids who form Bieber's core fan base.
The security was beefed up for the concert and for the artiste. The sport that Bipasha Basu always is, she also posted photographs with her husband online. While Salman Khan " s personal bodyguard Shera may be around to keep the singer safe, he might not be Justin Bieber's favourite companion.
'Fans who gathered outside Mumbai's airport, went hysterical after gettting the first glimse of their superstar, when he touched down the city at 0130 hrs on a chartered flight from Dubai.
Ahead of his performance, the singer interacted with underprivileged children and handed them 100 passes for his concert. During his visit, Justin was supposed to stay for a period of four days, and had plans to visit Rajasthan and Agra, but looks like he chose to change his plan and left India soon after the concert got over last night.
