Niall Horan and Selena Gomez's names have been linked for years now, with an array of romance rumors, Instagram comments, and loaded hugs behind them. But regardless of what might have gone down between the two singers in the past, it's clear to see that they are definitely on good terms today.
In fact, Niall recently told Billboard that he frequently hangs out with Selena and her squad, and that he considers her the "perfect role model for young girls." The One Direction singer added: "It takes balls to go in front of the world and share your problems," making reference to the fact that Selena has been so open about her experience dealing with lupus. His comments prove that it is possible to be friends with an ex — and even a rumored one at that.
Incidentally, Selena wasn't the only celebrity that Niall discussed in his Billboard interview. It turns out that Justin Bieber gave him some pertinent advice with regard to making his solo album. "Bieber told me that you never really know when you're finished," Niall explained. "He thought he was done [with Purpose] and then got 'Love Yourself' at the last minute. I thought my album was finished, and then I went on a bit of a run 'cause I was writing crap stuff up until then." It sounds like Justin bestowed some serious words of wisdom on Niall, and we can't wait to see how it all plays out in his solo album.
