In light of the terrorist attack last week at Ariana Grande's concert, which tragically left 22 dead and more than 50 injured, some of the biggest names in music are coming together to put on a benefit concert. The show, One Love Manchester, will raise money for the victims of the attack and their families. Just how "big" are we talking here? The line-up so far features Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Niall Horan, Coldplay, Pharrell, Usher, and Take That. Wow.
The show, which organizers predict will raise two million pounds for the Manchester Emergency Fund, will take place this Sunday, June 4th in Manchester. Tickets go on sale Thursday.
While Ariana canceled many of her European tour dates after the attack, she expressed a desire to return to Manchester. We're happy she's doing so for the fans.
"I don't want to go the rest of the year without being able to see and hold and uplift my fans," Grande said on Instagram.
"Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before. I'll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honor and raise money for the victims and their families."
Fans who were at her show on the 22nd, the night of the attack, will have free admission to the benefit concert.
Ariana also said after the attack: "Music is something that everyone on Earth can share. Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy. So that is what it will continue to do for us. We will continue in honor of the ones we lost, their loved ones, my fans and all affected by this tragedy."
