Justin Bieber has prevented Liam Payne from hitting the top of the U.K. singles chart by occupying first and second place with his star-studded collaborations.
The Canadian hitmaker's remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's Despacito smash continues to rule the countdown for a third week, while DJ Khaled's I'm The One, which features Bieber alongside Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne, and Quavo from Migos, holds steady at two.
The one-two punch means Liam has to settle for number three with his debut solo single Strip That Down, which includes a guest verse from Quavo.
Liam is the final member of One Direction to score a solo top 10 entry in the U.K., following in the footsteps of Harry Styles and his Sign of the Times hit, Louis Tomlinson's Just Hold On track with Steve Aoki, and Niall Horan's This Town. Former bandmate Zayn Malik has also experienced solo success with his former number one single Pillowtalk.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran, who co-wrote Strip That Down, returns to number one on the U.K. albums chart with ÷ (Divide), reclaiming the title from Styles' self-titled solo project, which slips to two.
Rag 'n' Bone Man's Human rounds out the top three, while Linkin Park's One More Light is new at four, and veteran entertainer Engelbert Humperdinck celebrates the 50th anniversary of his song Release Me by returning to the top five at five with his hits compilation 50.
