It might be too late for Justin Bieber to say sorry.
The 23-year-old singer, who recently joined artistic forces with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee on a "Despacito" remix, took the world by storm when he showed off his Spanish-speaking skills. Since it's debut, the collaboration has become the first Spanish-language song to peak at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 20 years.
But on Tuesday, Selena Gomez's ex caused controversy when he made a surprise appearance at 1 OAK in New York City to give partygoers a mini concert. Bieber, who seemed to have forgotten the lyrics from his own hit, was caught singing "blah, blah, blah" instead of the Spanish chorus. "I don't know the words," the Biebs told the audience. Of course, after the footage became public fans immediately voiced their disappointment on the singer for not remembering the lyrics.

For many, the teen sensation's decision to sing in Spanish for the first time was a big accomplishment. Fonsi, who revealed the collaboration was the Bieber's idea, applauded Justin for learning how to properly pronounce the words from the song. "Listen, laberinto and manuscrito are big words for us Spanish speakers, so imagine for somebody who doesn't speak Spanish," The Puerto Rican star told NBC. "Let me give all the credit to Mr. Justin Bieber because it was his idea to do the chorus in Spanish. We had a full English lyrics already written out for him, and he said, 'Ahh ah. No. I'm doing this the real way. I'm doing this in Spanish.' He did it on point, so hats off to the Biebs."
