Despacito is the first Spanish song to reach the Top 20 since Macarena back in 1996

DESPACITO is the first Spanish song to reach the Top 20 in over 20 years.

Just to give this a little perspective, the last song to achieve this was Macarena back in 1996.

While Bieber is revelling in his sixth No. 1 hit, and his second this year alone, both Fonsi and Yankee celebrated their first ever No. 1 on the Hot 100.

They took to social media with Fonsi posting on Instagram saying: "Music has no language. Let's keep making history."

Yankee added: "Thanks to you, we surpassed cultural barriers and we united the world through music."

It's fast becoming one of the most requested tunes on The Takeover.

I don't know about you, but a Spanish-singing Bieber is something I can get on board with.
