The pair were snapped looking rather cosy in a picture posted to Instagram this afternoon (May 2) and TMZ is now reporting that the pair are actually dating.
Digital Spy has reached out for comment to get to the bottom of this one.
Last month, rumours circulated that the pair were enjoying each other's company after Bieber was pictured FaceTiming the Pitch Perfect 2 star, and this latest picture certainly seems to suggest they are friendly.
The celebrity duo were allegedly introduced by their mutual pastor and hit it off from there (hear that, Fr Brian?)
If these rumours do turn out to be true, attention will surely now turn to how the news will go down within Taylor Swift's #squad.

Things got pretty awkward within the A-list girl gang last month when Selena Gomez was pictured with Bella Hadid's ex, The Weeknd.
As soon as it was confirmed the pair were dating, Bella – sister of Taylor Swift's BF Gigi – unfollowed Taylor's other best friend Selena on Instagram.
If Steinfeld is indeed dating Bieber, attention will surely turn now to how fellow squad member Selena will take the news, as she dated Justin Bieber for over two years.
