In his 1919 essay on "The Uncanny," the father of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud explored the darkest depths of human psychology, theorizing about the terribly unsettling nature of things like automatons and wax figures. Were Freud alive today to see the many-halled horrors of Madame Tussauds museums, he would surely recoil in terror.
The latest oneiric demon summoned to reality by Tussauds is a terrifying replica of Justin Bieber that somehow we are all pretending is not going to come alive and murder us when we least expect it. Here's a video of ladies dancing around the statue as if its cold, unblinking eyes aren't looking into their souls and seeing all of the lies they've ever told:
The statue is also routinely showered in water to give it that nightmarish glisten (but also because it requires sustenance to continue its dominion over the land of your sleep).
Surely this statue is a harbinger of the end times and we should probably destroy it before it becomes too powerful.
You can currently view Bieber's hellish wax visage at Madame Tussauds London location (and every night creeping in the shadows thereafter).
