WORRY: Fans could struggle to get around Manchester

Justin Bieber is set to perform in front of a sell-out crowd at the Manchester Arena.

And Jose Mourinho's Manchester United side take on Fenerbahce in the Europa League at Old Trafford.

But fans are facing an uphill battle to get to the venues after widespread delays and cancellations have struck the Metrolink network throughout the day.

STAR: Justin Bieber will perform at the Manchester Arena

United supporters have been advised to take a tram or bus to the match – and avoid the Metrolink at all costs.

But for Bieber fans, the situation could be even more bleak.

Anyone travelling from Eccles to the arena will have to get a replacement shuttle bus – as no trams will be running beyond Media City, meaning they will have to leave far earlier to catch the concert in time.

Hundreds of frustrated passengers have been posting pictures of crowded platforms and jam-packed trams as the chaos ensues.

Travellers looking further afield may also face trouble as there are also delays on the Manchester Airport line.

Doors have opened already for the Bieber gig, while kick-off at Old Trafford is scheduled for 8.05pm.
