How do I get to the Hydro?

The best and most reliable way to get to the Hydro on time is through public transport - parking can be a nightmare on a big gig night. Glasgow has regular bus and train services which take you either direct to the arena or just a short walk away.

By bus

Coach operators run services to Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station from throughout the UK.

The 100 Riversider service runs from George Square (north) in Glasgow city centre to the SECC, then Riverside Museum and return, every 30 minutes.

In addition, the Stagecoach X19 and McGills 23 services operate from adjacent to the SECC campus, stopping on Lancefield Street near the Clyde Arc bridge, only a 2 minute walk from the main venue. These services travel to and from the city centre regularly.

By train

Glasgow has the largest rail network in the UK outside London. Glasgow's Central station connects with most UK cities and Queen Street station serves central and northern Scotland - although be aware of limited services caused by the tunnel closure .

Six trains run per hour (roughly every ten minutes) between Glasgow Central's low level station and the Exhibition Centre station - a journey time of only four minutes. Once you disembark, a covered walkway will take you from the station to The SSE Hydro .

By taxi

There is a Glasgow Taxis rank (Hackney) pick-up and drop -off point at the East entrance adjacent to the Clyde Auditorium.

There are taxi ranks throughout the city. Main pick-up points include Buchanan Bus Station, Queen Street and Central stations and most large hotels. An average journey from the city centre will cost around £5.00.

Book a Taxi online here. The SSE Hydro address for online taxi booking form is The SSE Hydro, SECC, Glasgow, G3 8YW

Alternatively you can book a taxi with Glasgow Private Hire by calling them on 0141 774 3000.

By car

The SSE Hydro is located approximately 1 mile from Glasgow City Centre. Leave the M8 motorway at junction 19 and join the westbound Clydeside Expressway (A814). Westbound on the Expressway (A814) take cut off signposted SECC East. Turn left at traffic signals and take the right lane to access multi-storey parking at the venue. The Hydro's postcode for sat-nav is 'G3 8YW'.

Scotland has an extensive motorway road network. Glasgow is linked to Edinburgh by the M8 and England via the M74. You can reach Stirling via the M80, whilst the M77 connects you to the west coast of Scotland.

Visit Traffic Scotland for up to date traffic and road works information.

Where to park

Although taking the car isn't recommended, if you are driving, the multi-storey car park adjacent to the Hydro is the main parking area used for events at the venue. This facility is located at 10 Stobcross Road, Glasgow, G3 8YW.

On-site pay machines are located on level 2 (walkway level) and ground floor main foyer of the car park. Payment can be made by cash or credit/debit card. Using the car park will cost around £8 and visitors can either pre-pay after arrival or pay before exiting.

Where to eat

If you fancy a bite to eat before heading to the show, Glasgow has plenty of great restaurants just a stone's throw away from the Hydro.

Italian eatery La Rotunda and India Quay are located just beside the arena, but just a short walk away is Finnieston, where you'll find no end of fantastic food ranging from original Scottish fayre at the Kelvingrove Cafe to succulent sushi at Pickled Ginger .

There's also a delicious vegan and veggie menu at The 78 and Italian delicacies at Mora .
