Justin Bieber reveals his homesickness as he headlines the first day of the V Festival

The singer said he was missing his family having been on the road so long

JUSTIN Bieber opened up to the V Festival crowd tonight and admitted he was feeling homesick as he headlined the first day.

The pop star took to the stage at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex and told his fans that he was missing his family.

As he introduced his song Company, he said: ""I've been on tour a long time now – away from my friends and family.

"It gets tough sometimes… You just need Company."

Justin, 22, chatted a lot to the audience as he came on stage in ripped jeans and a stripy hoodie, and praised the UK for not being fake.

He said: "You guys don't like to fake anything in the UK, which I respect. How beautiful is the world? Who here values their life? I think growing up we go through periods here we don't value life as much as we should.

"I know I went through a period where I didn't value life like I should have. Life is a gift – none of us asked to be here – we all have our own problems. I don't know how you guys felt coming here today and you don't know how I walked in feeling today but we're together for a reason.

Bieber has been spotted partying in London in the last couple of days as he geared himself up for tonight's show.

The star, who will headline the V Festival's second venue, Weston Park in Staffordshire, tomorrow night, was seen out with a mystery woman while his girlfriend Sofia Richie was back in Los Angeles.
