Justin Bieber headlining V Festival has to be one of the most talked about slots of the entire festival season. Not only was this the first of his only UK festival appearances, with all the press surrounding him at the moment a lot was riding on this performance.
Although the Biebs seemed a little tired and admitted to being "slightly hungover" he still brought his A-game and performed a hit-filled set ranging from 'Baby' all the way through the tracks from his latest album Purpose. Just before he sang 'Life Is Worth Living', JB gave an empassioned speech about why we're all on this planet, and even got a little emotional as he wiped tears from his eyes. To be honest we just wanted to give him a hug and tell him everything will be okay. While Bieber was busy stealing people's hearts on the main stage, Faithless were keeping people entertained over on the MTV Stage. They performed a killer set as they headlined our stage and the crowds absolutely LOVED it, dancing way into the night.
Other highlights from day one at V Festival in Chelmsford included UK grime legend Stormzy stepping in for Halsey as she sadly had to pull out of her slot on the main stage. His crowd was one of the biggest and loudest of the whole day as he performed hits such as 'Know Me From?' and 'Shut Up'.

Over on the MTV Stage the amazing Troye Sivan was keeping the crowds entertained with his first (and only) UK festival show. He performed hits such as 'YOUTH' and 'WILD' from his debut album Blue Neighbourhood. Not only were his vocals on point, we're completely obsessed with his on stage presence - including some epic dance moves.
Overall day one of V Festival was AMAZING and we can't wait to do it all again with even more incredible artists.
We're showing LIVE highlights all this weekend - catch tonight's (Sunday) from 7pm on MTV, MTV Music & MTV Live!
