Traffic woes expected ahead of Justin Bieber concert at Royal Farms Arena

BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- Loyal Justin Bieber fans did not waste any time making their way to the Royal Farms Arena in downtown Baltimore on Thursday morning.

"Just ready for the show, and it's not for another like 12 hours," said Jenny Slade, a fan of the young pop music artist.

Each fan who spoke with FOX45 News outside the arena said they hoped to come face-to-face with their favorite artist.

"A lot of people just want pictures," said Angela Falade. "Just to hold a conversation with him would be amazing, honestly."

With thousands expected to attend Thursday's 7:30p.m. show, Baltimore City's Department of Transportation expects heavy congestion on roads for those getting into and out of the city.

"People will be leaving and coming at the same time," said Adrienne Barnes, the department's director of communications. "We ask that people exercise good patience. Plan ahead. Allow extra travel time, but if you must come downtown, consider taking public transportation."

Motorists should also remember to avoid areas with ongoing construction and street closures, Barnes said, including Mulberry Street between Greene and Paca Streets, where a sinkhole emerged after a water main break last week.
