Justin Bieber honors Pulse victims with touching Orlando show

On June 16, four days after the hate-fueled mass shooting that irrevocably rocked Orlando, Fla.'s Pulse nightclub, Justin Bieber stood in solidarity with mourners and affirmed his commitment to play the city's Amway Center.

"For all those asking no I won't cancel the Orlando show," the Purpose artist wrote. "I stand with Orlando in support. Love you, Orlando!"

Bieber showed that love Thursday night, delivering a delicate rendition of Purpose while a big screen projected the names of the 49 lives lost. The list also memorialized Bieber's late friend, Christina Grimmie, a fellow singer and Voice star, who was shot at a meet-and-greet on June 10.

Following the show, Bieber tweeted a somber message, encouraging fans to embrace their identity. "Thank you for tonight," he wrote. "Don't ever be afraid to be yourself." The entertainer also included the banner #OrlandoStrong, a hashtag which began trending after the shooting to raise awareness about the attack, and to rally funds for survivors.
