Britney Spears NOT Looking To 'Date' Justin Bieber, Despite Claim

Britney Spears is not "crushing" on Justin Bieber nor is she trying to "date" him, despite a new tabloid claim. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this report. We're told it's "not true."

According to OK!, "Spears knows what she wants, and it's much-younger pop star Justin Bieber." The repeatedly debunked magazine claims it has "sources," who tell the publication that in addition to wanting to "get closer" with Bieber, Spears is also "swooning" at the idea of collaborating with him. Specifically, the tabloid alleges Spears wants "Justin to guest star in her Las Vegas show."

As for Spears' other interest in The Biebs, a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "She's encouraged by the fact that he's hooked up with Kourtney Kardashian even though she's older." "She thinks they could date," adds the seemingly fabricated source. After noting how both singers have had "enough public scandals for a lifetime," the tabloid's suspect source says, "Britney couldn't care less about the age difference."

Gossip Cop would like to start a slow handclap for OK! for finding a way to tie Spears and Bieber together. While somewhat creative, the story of course is a complete fabrication. As anyone who's read Gossip Cop for the past few years knows, we have among the best Spears sources, and we're exclusively told by an insider that the claim she wants to "date" Bieber is "not true."

The magazine's track record when it comes to Spears is pretty bad. Gossip Cop has busted the publication on numerous occasions, including when it wrongly reported Spears wanted Kristen Stewart to play her in a biopic. The outlet has not been much better with its reporting on Bieber. Among the many articles we've debunked about him include that he has "sex videos" of himself with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. That, like scores of other tales, was entirely false.

Mind you, this isn't the first time an outlet has falsely linked the two pop stars. In the past, Gossip Cop exposed The Sun for making up a tale about Bieber's team asking Spears to "talk some sense into him," which supposedly resulted in her warning him about "the slippery slope that can easily lead to rehab." And then there was an Australian tabloid's claim in 2015 that at a MTV VMAs after-party hosted by Bieber, after "singing and laughing all night," he and Spears "were all over each other." That report was also a complete lie.
