Justin Bieber Sued For $650,000 In Defamation Suit By Canadian Company; Alleged Of Ruining Reputation With Single Tweet

Justin Bieber should have given a second thought to his tweet regarding a Canadian company. But it is now too late for apologies. The company has filed a defamation suit against Bieber and has sued him for $650,000 for allegedly ruining their reputation with a single tweet.

As per the reports by Gossip Cop, Bieber has been sued for tarnishing the reputation of Team Productions, a Canadian company, by posting a tweet regarding a broken contract with the company. It has been reported that Bieber pulled out from a show in Montreal, with just a few hours of notice.

The singer tweeted, "Montreal, due to the promoter of today's event breaking his contract and lying I will not be able to attend today's event. I'm sorry. I look forward to coming back to Montreal in the future to do a proper show but I will not be able to attend 2day due to this breach. Thanks." His tweet has not gone down well with the company and they have decided to sue him with a defamation lawsuit.

New York Daily News reports that the singer had signed a contract with Plaintiff Team Productions under which he had to perform live at a Montreal Beach club on Aug. 22. The company agreed to pay him $250,075 at the time of signing the deal and $175,000 five days prior to the travel date. In return of which, Bieber had agreed to promote the program on social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

After making the first payment, the promoter expressed his "concern" as Bieber was not doing his bit to promote the event. He then initiated discussions for a discount with the "Sorry" hitmaker. This made Justin Bieber back out and he slammed the company on social media, the lawsuit says.

The company said that it enjoyed a very good reputation in Montreal, having organized many successful events. But this one tweet ruined their reputation beyond repair. The company has asked for a damage compensation of $650,000 from Bieber, as per the lawsuit.

The tweet has burned a big hole in Bieber's pocket apparently!
