As Justin Bieber's mysterious behaviour continues, the 22-year-old singer took everyone by surprise with some recent Instagram posts in which he's apparently man-crushing on Ryan Gosling.

Acting much like the many fangirls (and boys) on the Internet, Bieber has taken to the social platform to post two consecutive photos of his fellow Canadian.
The photos both display Gosling with platinum hair and tattoos while on the set of "The Place Beyond the Pines." In one pic, the 35-year-old actor looks slick as he leans against a motorcycle with a cigarette in hand. Bieber captions the pic: "What a beast."

In the following photo, Gosling is feeding his onscreen son with a bottle while somehow still looking like a bad boy. Bieber once again uses the same caption: "What a beast."

So what's with The Biebs' sudden Gosling obsession? As People points out, perhaps it's because simply a case of one distant cousin supporting another.
"In 2012, Ancestry.com revealed that Gosling and Bieber are 11th cousins once removed," reminds People, "with their connection dating back to French couples who moved to Quebec in the 1600s."
