Remember My Name: Kea Peahu

HONOLULU (KHON2) - Kea Peahu is a 10-year-old professional dancer and actor.

She was born in Hawaii and is now pursuing her dreams in Los Angeles.

"I first started dancing when I was 3 years old, but then it wasn't until I was about 4 and a half years old, until me and the rest of my family members realized my true passion for dancing and hip-hop," Peahu said. "When I moved to California, it was for dancing and both acting, but it was mostly for acting. I did do dancing classes here and there, but it was just like acting auditions."

That focus shifted when Peahu joined The Lab, a dance group competing on the current season of "World of Dance."

"Ever since I joined them, it's just been like a home away from home, and my whole life has changed," she said. "You have to get an 80 or above and there's five different rounds. It's definitely nerve-wracking, but once you get on stage, we just mostly like shake it off, and it's just such a crazy experience, and the winner gets $1 million."

Peahu has appeared in music videos for Jennifer Lopez and Chris Brown, and got to appear as a part of Justin Bieber's Purpose tour in New York.

"No matter how old you are, no matter how young you are, no matter how big or small you are, just make sure to just follow your dreams, and always to push and have the right mindset of I believe in you, everyone else believes in you, and just to keep going for your dreams," Peahu advises.
