Selena Gomez's mom knows what kind of person she wants her daughter to end up with. During a recent interview with People, Mandy Teefey shared the three qualities she thinks are most important in a mate for Selena.
"A sense of humor," she said, adding that it would also be important for the person Gomez ends up with to be "family-oriented" and "someone who truly understands the life that she lives."

This motherly advice comes after the "Back to You" singer's latest split from longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend, Justin Bieber—of whom Teefey is said to disapprove.
In December 2017, Gomez and Teefey reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram over an argument about the former's then-recently rekindled romance with Bieber. Teefey was also reportedly hospitalized at least in part due to the stress the drama was causing her.
In January, Teefey confirmed that she was "not happy" about the relationship, but added that "Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy."
Teefey also told Gossip Cop at the time, "Every mother and daughter has disagreements." And of her decision to step back as her daughter's manager, Teefey said, "We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business."
