Hailey Baldwin and ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber have been spotted hanging out again recently, and things might be more serious this time around. On Wednesday, the Daily Mail noticed an interesting addition to Baldwin's outfit, which consisted of an oversize jean jacket, a white crop top, black pants, and white sneakers: a diamond ring on her left ring finger. Could this mean that the 21-year-old model and the 24-year-old singer are engaged?
The answer is: We don't know. According to her Instagram feed, Baldwin has worn a diamond band on that finger in the past, including at the 2018 Met Gala. She hit the red carpet at the event just last month alongside singer Shawn Mendes, and the two were also rumored to be dating at the time. It's not clear whether the rings that Baldwin flashes on the 'gram are the same as the one she wore IRL, or if this latest band is meant for engagement purposes at all, but fans are certainly freaking out over the piece of jewelry and its placement.
Bieber is no stranger to engagement rumors, either. In 2012, there were reports that he was engaged to then girlfriend Selena Gomez after she was spotted wearing a ring with a J engraved, but Justin (who was only 18 at the time) denied the rumors. But that doesn't mean marriage is out of the question—in 2016, when Biebs and Hailey first started dating, he said he wanted to be "settled down" by the age of 30 and that his biggest dream is to "have a family of his own."
With fellow young starlets Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande making the quick engagement look like a breeze, it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility that Bieber and Baldwin are following in their footsteps. Only time—and strategically placed rings—will tell.
