From collabs to capsule collections, here's what we're shopping this weekend.
Friday's here, folks—and that means a fresh batch of brand-new menswear. This weekend is stacked with top-of-the-line menswear drops, from New York labels like Aimé Leon Dore and Awake NY, to collab collections from Levi's and celebrity stylist Karla Welch, and Uniqlo and German designer Tomas Maier. Plus, there's even a new delightfully bizarre soccer-heavy collection from Acne Studios. Here are the five drops we'll be shopping this weekend..
The World Cup is right around the corner, so fashion has seen its fair share of soccer-inspired collections. But leave it to the Swedish luxe-minimalists at Acne Studios to design printed jerseys and shorts that are as wonderfully weird as they are actually athletic. None of it looks like anything you'd ever seen worn on the pitch—and that's precisely why we dig it.
Aimé Leon Dore usually offers cozy goods like slim-cut sweatpants and french terry sweaters. But the best streetwear brands zig when everyone else zags—so, naturally, the third drop from their spring/summer collection has perfect-for-summer suits, ultra-luxe takes on graphic tees and gym shorts, and must-wear footwear that isn't sneakers.
The latest collection from the highly influential mind of Angelo Baque has finally hit the web. As expected, Awake NY delivers on the promise of streetwear staples, and lots of them: logo-printed T-shirts and hoodies, be-logoed dad hats, and logo-filled accessories. The entire range is simple, well-designed, and easy to wear, which makes it hard to not to want to pick up a tee—or two.
You may not know top-tier celebrity stylist Karla Welch's name, but you definitely know her biggest male client: Justin Bieber. She's the one who's helped guide his style from boy-band wannabe to genuinely personal, and now she's letting us regular folk get a taste, too. This collection marks Levi's first partnership with a stylist, and Welch has given her in-demand eye to reimagine such iconic pieces as the brand's trucker jacket, denim shirt, and of course, 501 jeans.
The luxury designer Tomas Maier and Uniqlo have teamed up on a collection of beach-inspired leisurewear that just begs to be worn on summer Fridays and mini-vacations on long weekends. There's lightweight zip-up jackets, open polo shirts, and almost too many short styles to choose from. Pick something up now and you'll be all set for the first sun-soaked loungy weekend of the season.
