Kendrick Lamar is having a great week and it is only Wednesday. On Monday, he became the first rapper to win the Pulitzer Prize for music and on Tuesday he reaped a leading 15 nominations for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. Also in the running for that many prizes at the 26th annual edition of these awards presented by the music magazine are Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran. All three men contend for Artist of the Year against the reigning champDrake, who has nine nominations in all and five-time contender Taylor Swift.
Other musical artists with multiple nominations include: Post Malone, who is up for an even dozen awards; Imagine Dragons with 10 bids; eight-time nominees Justin Bieber and Cardi B; and "Despacito" duo Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee with a lucky seven.
Winners will be announced prior to and during the three-hour ceremony from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20 hosted by "The Voice" coach Kelly Clarkson that will air on NBC beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
