Word of Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's break-up emerged Sunday.
Though the Wizards Of Waverly Place star's mom Mandy Teefy was initially blamed for the split, other sources claim the couple 'have their own issues' and Selena's mom had nothing to do with her decision, according to People.
The insider insisted that Selena 'wouldn't base her relationship off of what her mom thinks,' adding that the couple have 'always been on and off.'

They weren't ruling a reunion out, however.
'They've been having disagreements, but it wouldn't be surprising if they're back together in a week,' the source continued.
Selena's mom Mandy expressed her disapproval in a statement to GossipCop.com earlier this year.
Speaking to the site in January, Teefy said she's 'not happy' with the relationship but that 'Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy.'
Still a chance? The insider wasn't ruling a reunion out, though saying: 'It wouldn't be surprising if they're back together in a week'

Though People's source was adamant that Selena's mom had nothing to do with the break-up, another source close to the family told Us Weekly: 'Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena's mom and her disapproval of Justin.
'Justin's family loves Selena, but Selena's family has put her in a very conflicting spot because they still don't trust Justin. Selena has tried to convince her family that Justin has changed … but her family just isn't budging right now.'
The couple rekindled their childhood romance last Fall, following Selena's split from rapper The Weeknd in October.
