Selena Gomez's Mom Responds To Justin Bieber Dating Rumors

Selena Gomez's relationship with Justin Bieber has been a mystery to many—and that includes the "Bad Liar" singer's mother, Mandy Teefey. Like most fans, Teefey admitted Wednesday that she doesn't know much about the pair's on-again-off-again dynamic.

"You would know before I did," Teefey told E! Online. "We don't talk about it." 

Representatives for Teefey did not immediately return Newsweek's request for comment.

But Gomez addressed her re-established bond with the "Sorry" crooner in November 2017. "I'm 25. I'm not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life," she said of the reunion to Billboard. "So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn't right. But that doesn't mean caring for someone ever goes away."

Teefey seemingly confessed to Gossip Cop in January that she wasn't entirely amused by her daughter's relationship with Bieber. "Selena can live her life however she wants," she said of the pair's reunion. "As long as she is happy, safe and healthy."

Added Teefey, "She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her...Selena is an adult and can make her own choices."

Gomez and Beiber were spotted together in October at her home in Studio City, California. This appearance occurred during her 10-month-long relationship to singer The Weeknd, and the pair called it quits shortly after the sighting.

Gomez and Bieber dated on-and-off from 2011 to 2014. They've frequently spoken about the downfall of their relationship in public, and the "Love Yourself" singer additionally confessed he'd never stop loving the Disney alum.

"It was really tough. I don't know if I'm over it yet," he told Access Hollywood in 2015. "[She] is someone I love dearly. I'm never going to stop loving her."
